[Follows this thread after Nagisa and Rei leave Haruka with Makoto]

[As they turn to leave, Nagisa looks over at Rei]

Hey, Rei-chan... let's go upstairs, okay? That way we can talk a bit.

[He tries not to make it sound ominous, just the kind of thing that Rei would be embarrassed to talk about in public.]

Talk? Alright?

[He's blinking in confusion but he'll go with him at least.]

[He starts skipping steps, anything to get up faster before he actually says anything. At the entrance to their room, he'll reach out for Rei's hand and try to usher him inside then shut the door.]

So I found out something interesting today that I wanted to ask if Mako-chan might have already told you too...

He's dating someone now! Isn't that great for him? [Oh god he's so happy for his friend but he can't contain the worry]

[Stumbling after him, he tries to figure out what is happening here. Seriously, Nagisa, why are you so happy about talking to him?

He was interested in someone? Enough to date them? But who?

Well... [He squeezed Rei's hand instinctively. He did want to be the one telling Rei since he clearly didn't know. He didn't want Makoto's chances at happiness dampened just because one of his friends didn't get along with the guy he was interested in.]

Gokudera-kun?

[And then his face just becomes overcome with worry. He knows what's coming. He's just hoping it's not that bad.]

Gokudera-san...

[He frowns because he doesn't approve. Yet, Makoto likes him and if he makes him happy.

Why didn't he see the signs? Was he so selfishly blinded by his own irritation? That's wrong and it only hurts his friend. He never wanted that.

Looking down, he doesn't say anything more just yet, too busy thinking.]

Rei-chan?

[Ugh he can't read Rei's mind, he only knows that Rei's frowning.]

Nagisa-kun, I'm going to go sit in the kitchen for awhile. I need to think.

[Giving his hand a squeeze so he knows he's not mad at him, or anyone really, he goes to head back downstairs.]

Think? About...

[But he's not convinced he knows what the squeeze means.]

Rei-chan...

[But he does let him go. He has no idea what's going on, so he sits down in bed and tries to wait up for Rei to return. Eventually he does pass out before Rei returns.]

[He's down in the kitchen for a long time. Sipping tea, thinking about things. Rei feels he should be angry with others for not telling him but he instead finds himself upset with...himself. Nagisa saw the signs, other people probably did too.

He was just so blinded by his anger at Gokudera that...

It's cruel of him to do this to Makoto. His own senpai feels like he can't even come to him to tell him these things and he knows that's his own fault. Frowning, he finally finishes his tea then gets up to get ready for bed.

Nagisa is already out so he pulls a blanket up over him before getting into bed himself.

He's gone and has made his bed before Nagisa even wakes up.]
